Jean Gabriel Pasturaud (Babou), with Philippe Rossignol & Estelle Rossignol.
Jean Gabriel Pasturaud, added yet another title to his long and successful career yesterday when he helmed FRA 390 Eostig crewed by owner Philippe Rossignol and his wife Estelle to victory on Lake Cazaux to win the 28th Drag’s Cup. “Babou” has raced Dragons all his life and is now enjoying his retirement just competing at the odd event, so it was great to see him back on the helm at the front of the fleet once again :-).
After just one “shortened” race on Day 3 (Saturday) won by GBR 764 “Naiad“, the PRO Michel Orlandi managed to complete 3 more races on the final day yesterday to complete a 9 race series for the 22 participants. This was a light wind regatta sailed in wonderful sunny conditions and enjoyed by all. Well done to organiser Yves Leglise & his team of helpers….
Mike Hayles & wife Monique, with Graig Dymock win Race 6 in a dying breeze.
2nd place overall and runner up was French Secretary Jean Breger helming FRA 291 “Ulysse” crewed by Clement Soulet and Alexandre Demeret who sailed very well but just lost out in the end by one point!
3rd Overall was FRA 207 “Q Ti Too” helmed by Fred Gourlaouen, crewed by Alan Peyaud and Arnaud Raillard, this experienced team from Douarnenez always sail well and know the Lake very well.
The evenings were thoroughly enjoyed by all as the hospitality at the Club is second to none, this is definitely an event not to be missed next year…..
The evening food is prepared in Cazaux, whilst the competitors enjoy the local wine.
Now the Winter is upon us and the first event in Cannes 6th to 8th Nov is just around the corner… Will you be at the Coupe de Armistice this weekend…??
