“Pow-Wow” owner,.. Michael Zenkel (2nd right) celebrates the christening of his new boat recently bought from Tommy Muller, directly after it won the Gold Cup in Kinsale……
Pow-Wow is a specific type of event where both Native American and non Native Americans meet to dance, sing and socialize and honour the American Indian culture. Pow-Wow’s can last for anytime from 5 hours up to 3 days… Quite fitting really as this Cascais Winter Series is also 3 days !! Yes, Campers it’s the start of the 2012 Winter programme. (Where I can promise the socializing and the singing, but I’ll leave the dancing to Vincie 🙂
Never before will so many Dragons be making their way down to Cascais during a winter, as an event list second to none is celebrated by the Club de Naval Cascais…with 5 Winter Series, 2 Spring Cup’s, the Juan Carlos (Grade 1) event and finally the Europeans in April, why would you chose to sail anywhere else….. ?
Already the boat park is seeing new boats, different sailors and then of course the “usual’s” gather for what will be a “full-on” winter, with racing at the very highest level… Watch this space if you want to keep up-dated with the winners and boats setting the pace.. Also I’ll bring you the funny stories, the heart aches of racing and all the general “gossip” that goes on during the many Pow-Wow’s to follow……….. 🙂
