So here we go fellow Dragon Sailors, our first European Grade 1 event of 2014 is just around the corner. Yes, Gerard Blanc and his Yacht Club de Cannes Team of helpers already have 60 boats registered for their Grand Prix which begins Weds 26th Feb. With craning available from this Saturday, some teams will take the opportunity to “practice” and set their boats up early for this “Top” event.
The entry list is very impressive with the many of the usual excellent teams, all looking to start the season with a good result against fierce competition. All the boats will be moored within the safety of the Yacht Club and the racing programme will continue over a “full” 4 days until Sat 1st March. Prize Giving and the Final Dinner will take place at the Palm Beach Casino on Sat evening.
With craning out NOT starting until Sunday 2nd March, this gives the experienced PRO an opportunity to provide a full day of racing on the last day. So a very exciting regatta ahead…. Will you be there ??
