It’s 09.30 and with a brilliant final day show down ahead of us everyone is raring to go here in Cowes. Well, I say everyone, in fact one of two of our teams are just a little bit dusty this morning having over indulged at last night’s excellent Gala dinner at the Royal Yacht Squadron. Fortunately our leading protagonists have strong constitutions and everyone is now preparing to leave the dock for battle.
Weather wise its another gloriously sunny day here in Cowes. We’re a bit short of wind right now but the Met Office forecast is for a decent sea breeze. Currently Bramblemet is showing that we have around 5 knots from the NW (which ties in with the Met Office for this time of day) so we just have to hope that the sea breeze prediction comes good.
We’ve got one final race to run and the podium positions will all be decided on this race. Klaus Diederichs and Poul Richard Hoj-Jensen will be fighting it out for the top slot with just one point separating them, whilst the battle for third is also going to be a humdinger. Lawrie Smith leads the charge with Simon Brien as his nearest rival but Olga White, Gavia Wilkinson-Cox, Mikhail Muratov and Louis Urvois are all still technically able to take that final podium spot.
