When the pandemic forced the cancellation of this year’s European Championship in Puerto Portals, it looked as if there would be no possibility to hold it at another time. The Puerto Portals marina has had major refurbishment work scheduled for the next 12 months. However, through superhuman efforts of the organisers in PP and many hours spent by the IDA Board & management, it has been possible to fix a firm date next year 12 – 16 April 2021. Measurement & lift-in will begin on 10 April and lift-out on 17/18 April. The image shows the location for the event in the marina.
This schedule will allow competitors to travel from the Grand Prix in Cascais at the end of March and then on to Cannes for the next GP at the end of April.
The IDA acknowledge that 2021 will be a crowded schedule, but there is no doubt that by the end of this Covid crisis we will all want as many sailing days as possible!
