Some of the bigger boats starting just before the Dragon’s on a great 5th day of racing here on the Isle of Wight, Aberdeen Management Cowes Week 2013. Although the races were cancelled on Tuesday through lack of wind, yesterday the game was “back on” for all 850 boats… In the Dragons GBR 720 “Aimee”, helmed by Graham Bailey again dominated the fleet to make it 4 wins out of 4. In 2nd place was GBR 682 “Ecstatic” Eric Williams and 3rd was GBR 660 “The Old Bailey” helmed by Chris Brittain.
In the Swan 60’s two of our main World Dragon Championship sponsors can clearly be seen as Gazprom round’s the windward mark and prepares for a spinnaker hoist. With Aberdeen Management, Gazprom and I believe BMW, now sponsoring our Worlds,it should be a fantastic event with around 80 entries. Back in the Dragon Fleet, with 3 more days to go, Graham Bailey looks unbeatable, so the race is on for the other podium places.
Meanwhile over in Ostend, the Open Belgium National Championships start today, so I hope to bring you up to date news of that event, here on the IDA main home page….. Never a dull moment…. 🙂
