After no wind at all on Day 1 (Thursday) the PRO Michel Orlandi, managed to organise 5, yes 5 races for the delighted 23 boat fleet on Lake Cazuax today (Friday). Yves Leglise told me “Super weather today, sunshine 20 degrees & Five races in ! Early 10am start, in a light but steady wind from 95 to 115 degrees and a strength of 5 – 7 kts”. Well done my friend, to complete 5 races was excellent.

After 5 races it is FRA 291 “Ulysse” helmed by Jean Breger who leads the regatta, crewed by Clement Soules & Alexandre Demeret from La Grande Motte. Jean is the Secretary of the French Dragon Fleet and has been very active & supportive in all the many French Regatta’s, it is people like Jean working hard behind the scenes that allows the class to thrive. In 2nd place overall after 5 races is FRA 207 “Q Ti Too” helmed by Fred Gourlaouen, crewed by Alan Payraud & Arnaud Raillard. This experienced team from Douarnenez know the Lake well and will be tough to beat by Sunday… 3rd overall is the first local boat FRA 378 “Green” helmed by Betrand Moussie, crewed by Jerome Laurier & Franck Corbiere (Arcachon Yacht Club).
