Tommy Muller proudly holds the Juan Carlos Trophy with his “Bavarian Dream Team” on the right, Vincent Hoesch and Michi Lipp. Presented by Jose’ Matoso the Club Naval de Cascais President (far left) who himself finished in 2nd place crewed by Gwen Chapalain and Stefan Hellriegel. In 3rd place was Pedro Medes Leal crewed by Pedro Andrade and Jorge Feriov Ribeiro. There was no racing on the final day due to lack of wind………

Winners of the last race, which was sailed on Friday, were Graham and Julia Bailey. Pictured here collecting the “Stavros” trophy, with crew Mafalda and Richard Powell.

In the end 7 races were sailed in perfect conditions with a variety of wind strengths. But on the final day as the 30 Dragons waiting patiently on the water for the wind to settle, PRO Jose’ Cancella had no choice but to call it a day at around 2.45pm. This left plenty of time for the efficient staff at the Club Naval de Cascais to hoist and clean the boats so the the Prize Giving and pre book flights home could be made, without a desperate mad rush.

It was a fantastic event and with the Europeans taking place here next April, I am sure many more Dragons will be making their way down across Europe to this magical venue.

Higher, Faster, Longer………..      Stavros.  (GBR 767).
