Yacht Club San Remo will now host the 1st European Grade 1 of 2026 April 15th-18th.

Stop Press! All 4 European Grade 1’s have now been confirmed for the 2026 season. IDA Vice Chairman, Martin Lutz, is planning the series and this will now begin in Italy (San Remo), travel onto Hungary (Lake Ballaton), followed by the UK (Cowes) and finally Holland (Medemblik).

San Remo April 15th-18th. Ballaton May 13th-16th. Cowes August 18th-21st. Medemblik Sept 10th-13th.

There is no doubt the Grade 1 series 2025 is proving ever more popular, as the great turn-out’s in Cascais, Attersee & Skanor have proven this season. With the 4th Grade 1 & Finals in Cannes (November) expecting record numbers, this high level of Sailing and Race Management is gaining momentum.

Cannes will host the 4th European Grade 1 & Finals this November 3rd to 8th 2025.

One very important change for next season is the 2026 Finals will now be held immediately before the opening Grade 1 of 2027. This is a new initiative put forward by Gavia which will allow Qualified Teams to book their travel plans and accommodation well in advance. The IDA Officers will always listen to the sailors idea’s and try to implement the good suggestions when possible.

Our IDA Vice Chairman Martin Lutz explained “We are grateful to Yacht Club San Remo for agreeing to host our opening Grade 1 in April, as it will follow on nicely from the Gold Cup (March) in Puerto Portals, Mallorca. Boats then have the opportunity to travel into Hungary or up to the UK, before finishing in Holland. With many teams already planning to make the trip to Hong Kong, shipping to the Worlds can begin from Rotterdam after Medemblik”.  This is a super schedule both for logistics & venues. Well done.
