Tomorrow (Thurs 23rd March) will see the start of the Dragon Cup in San Remo as 36 International Teams will compete for the Italian National Championship. Principle Organiser Umberto Zocca Di Montelupo is hoping the weather will behave itself so that a full program of races can be sailed over the next 4 days.
With teams representing 10 different Nations it will be a most challenging event enjoyed both on and off the water.. It will be interesting to see how the top 2 teams from the Cannes Grand Prix last month (Yvegeni Braslavets UAE 8 & Andy Beadsworth TUR 1212) fair against the current European Champion, Anatoly Loginov RUS 27, who will be keen to resume a usual “podium” position….
RUS 27 Anatoly Loginov, crewed by Vadim Statsemko & Alexander Shaligin. (Last year in San Remo).
Meanwhile over in Palma de Mallorca a number of Dragons will be competing in the prestigious Princess Sofia Trophy (24th-27th March). This will be the 48th edition of this wonderful event sailed in the beautiful bay overlooked by the magnificent Cathedral….
The Spanish Fleet has made a big resurgence in Palma de Mallorca. With a back drop of this wonderful Cathedral..
Two wonderful venues will see many International Dragons Racing over the next 4 days 🙂
