Winners Ricardo Pinto, Martin Payne and Rui Boia receive their prizes at the IV Amadeus Cup after 5 races sailed in the most perfect conditions on the Algarve, Portugal.  After recording another 1st and 2nd place yesterday in “Hombre”, Payne and his Portuguese Crew won the event by a clear 5pts. In second place helming POR 46 was Olympic hopeful Frederico P Melo (who will be in Heyre’s next week back in the Star Class). We all wish Frederico the best of luck when he represents Portugal this Summer in Weymouth. In third place was POR 56 Miguel Magalhaes who hopes soon to become President of the Portuguese Dragon Class.

Today will see the conclusion of the Prince Henry the Navigator Trophy with two more races to be sailed. The forecast is for 15 kts of North-Westerly wind, with blue skies and a warm sea. Vilamoura has an excellent climate all year round and with a full Marina surrounded by many shops and restaurants, it’s no wonder why so many happy tourists visit this wonderful part of Europe.  As the Club Naval de Cascais host the Dragon European Championships next year in early April, why not stay in Portugal and visit Vilamoura to join in with this fantastic sociable and entertaining regatta……. ??????
