Some feverish action in the protest room last night brought big changes to the top of the leader board here in Douarnenez as provisional leader Markus Wieser – URK7 Bunker Queen – was protest out of the second race dropping him down into 43rd place and Lars Hendriksen – UKR8 Bunker Boys – received redress of average points following an incident on the start line of race one which moved him up into the overall lead.
Today two more races were completed, bringing the total to four, and Lars Hendriksen gave a master class in Dragon sailing wining both races with confidence to take a 19 point lead over Klaus Diederichs in GBR758 Fever. In third place tonight is Evgeniy Braslavets in URK9 Bunker Prince while reigning World Champion Lawrie Smith seems to be getting the measure of his brand new boat (delivered by Petticrows direct to this regatta) as he sits in fourth place, 3 points behind Braslavets.
