The Norwegian Drake Club hosted the Norwegian Open Championship over the weekend (25-27 August). There were 13 registered boats of which 2 were Swedish. It was no surprise to see top Swedish sailor Martin Pålsson with crew Gøran Alm and Berra Johansson taking the overall victory in front of the next Swedish boat with Anders HEDLUND, Håkan LING and Magnus BRENTON. The bronze medal was won by NOR 280 with Steff HERBERN, JosteinTHOMASSEN and Iver WAALEN. 10 races were planned, but due to high winds only 8 races were sailed. The organizer was Fredrikstad Sailing Club, which did as usual a very nice and professional job. A great sporting and social event that we hope will draw more boats to Hankø in 2024.

The first three crews in the Norwegian Closed Championship were:

  1. Nor 280 Footloose

Steff HERBERN

Jostein THOMASSEN

Iver WAALEN

  1. 2. Nor 293 Daddy’s

Jørgen Andreas PAULSEN

Knut J LUND

Kim A KRABBE

  1. Nor 287 Macgyber

Henrik Julius NILSEN
