Ali Tezdiker’s team overcame “gastric” illness to record two victories in the wonderful bay of Douarnenez. Today the race course was stretched to a most acceptable & enjoyable distance of 1.5 nautical miles. The fleet were well behaved in the first race but needed a gentle reminder in the form of the “U” flag for race two.

It was clear that Tim Tavinor was visibly glowing with pride having watched his two new Petticrows V6’s take 6 of the winning gun’s out of the 7 races thus far. Tim, a passionate Dragon Sailor and fleet supporter, is not only here to assist the new boats, but offers his considerable knowledge and facilities to all competitors. Tim is even living “on site” at regatta HQ in the Petticrows Van to ensure 24/7 service……

Racing today was sailed in a building East/Northeast breeze ranging from 11 to 18 kts. It was an oscillating wind with no time constraints on the shifts. The race course rewarded an element of flair, but was also kind to those that concentrated on the lifting tack.

Overall RUS 76 “RocknRolla” is still leading the fleet on 13pts. Provezza head the chasing pack on 15pts, the “Man” is close behind on 20pts, with Full Speed in 4th on 25pts.

Of note is the performance of FRA 401 “Courrier de Saints” helmed by Gery Trentesaux who is currently in 6th place heading the French National Championship with his consistent sailing. Chasing hard is the event sponsors Christian Guyader, who has recovered from his first day encounter……..
