There’s an “EBB TIDE” in Kuhlungsborn.
At 21m long and with a 5m beam, the 50 International Dragon Sailors about to compete in the BMW German Grand Prix, will have no problem locating their “Principle” Committee Boat this week! The “Ebb Tide” was built in the USA during 1969 and is the most perfect starting platform for such an event.
There is an old Fisherman’s Tale of “Never go out on an Ebb Tide”, well I shall be on board today without a worry as I watch the first day of racing..
As well as good equipment, the Principle Race Officer, Christian Haake from Lake Starnberg, has an excellent team of helpers and volunteers all from various Yacht Clubs in Northern Germany…
So the stage is set for a fantastic event in which there are too many top sailors from all over the World to pick a winner at this stage. So stay tuned to this IDA Home page and I’ll bring you a day by day round up of all the action….
