The V6 Petticrows of “Provezza” wins Race 3 in Douarnenez yesterday.
Another perfect sailing day yesterday in Douarnenez saw 3 more races completed in the 2017 Grand Prix Guyader. In the opening race it was a great tactical decision by the Dragon Fleet’s “Opera Singer” Jean Pol Kerbaol to sail all the way to the right side of the course, to then lead at the top mark by a good margin…
FRA 339 “Sklaera” with Jean Pol Kerbaol, Yvon Guigourese & Michel Trellu lead race 3.
Meanwhile the battle between the two new V6 Petticrows was the story of the day.. RUS 76 v TUR 1212, Dmitry Samokhin versus Andy Beadsworth…. In race 3 it was Andy that took the victory, whilst race 4 and 5 went to Dmitry.
Chasing the leading 2 boats overall after 5 races (1 discard) is GBR 813 “Danish Blue” helmed by Poul-Richard Hoj-Jensen, crewed by Katie & Noddy.
The Man (Poul-Richard) with Katie Cole last night, currently 3rd overall after 5 races.
Last evening a number of sailors were invited to the beautiful Urvois family home overlooking the bay of Douarnenez. This wonderful house, designed by Tania Urvois, has panoramic views and enhanced lighting so everyone very much enjoyed themselves… On behalf of the guests I would again like to thank Kersti Urvois for allowing us to spend time at their family home 🙂
Guests enjoying the evening meal at the “Urvois” house in Douarnenez last night (Weds 3rd).
Today will hopefully bring 3 more races for this 31 boat fleet, as conditions look to be very favourable with 13 to 17 kts forecast and a sunny sky…. life could be worse 🙂
